Holy Name Preparatory School had its beginnings as the Junior Department of the Holy Name Convent Secondary School until the advent of free secondary education in 1962, when it became a separate entity with its own principal. Holy Name Preparatory School is registered with the Ministry of Education as a Private School. The student population is approximately four hundred (400).
From Reception all children stay at school for the full day and receive a thorough, broad education from experienced, qualified staff. In addition to our class teachers we have teaching assistants and this enables us to keep a high teacher pupil ratio, as well as giving flexibility in providing extra help to individual children and to small groups.
We offer an extensive curriculum throughout the school: English Language, Art, Spelling, Composition, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Composition, Spanish, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics and CAC (Continuous Assessment Component) Subjects: Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Agricultural Science, Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) with the emphasis on the core subjects.

Holy Name Preparatory School was founded for the education of children in the Roman Catholic faith. The teachings and practices of the Roman Catholic religion are an integral part of the school's curriculum. Children of other faiths are accepted into the school with the understanding that they will be present for and respect the religious activities of the school.
As Catholic educators, we will guide our students to appreciate their dignity as children of God and to realise their God-given talents and abilities
